Minecraft Earth was an augmented reality (AR) and geolocation-based sandbox game developed by Mojang Studios. It allowed players to use their mobile devices to interact with the Minecraft universe in the real world, placing virtual blocks and objects and collaborating with other players.
Why did Minecraft Earth shut down?
Minecraft Earth was shut down on June 30, 2021. The decision to discontinue the game was made due to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, as it became difficult for players to engage in the social and outdoor aspects of the game. The development team also wanted to redirect their efforts towards other Minecraft projects.
Was Minecraft Earth popular?
